Dr. Matt Parker FAQs

We are here to help your pet’s problems.
What ailments do you treat?

We treat anything that isn’t an emergency. Our passion and purpose are to help reverse and prevent chronic disease & chronic inflammation and educate about the common everyday causes of Chronic Disease & Inflammation.

Common illnesses we treat include Addison’s, Allergies, Arthritis, Atopy, Auto-Immune, Back pain, Cancer, Chemical Toxicity, Cushing’s, Diabetes, Diarrhea, Disc Injury (IVDD), Ear Infections, Endocrine/Hormone, Gingivitis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Lameness, Lupus, Lyme, Lymphoma, Neck Pain, Paralysis, Pemphigus, Seizures, Skin issues, Tick Disease, Vomiting & Nausea & Anorexia, Wellness, and more.

How does it work?

We evaluate all available information and assess big picture items and tiny details in the information we gather and our exam findings and visit your home. We look at things much differently than what was taught to most veterinarians and doctors in conventional Western medical schools. We are house-call/mobile-only, so we come to you within our service area.

What is holistic veterinary care?

We integrate modern western methods, TCVM, acupuncture, chiropractic, and skeletal manipulation, rehab, and other energy-based philosophies to get to the root of the problem.

What is functional veterinary care?

We focus on the function and functionality of your pet. We use our Holistic approach to find what works best for your pet and use whatever tools necessary to help them feel better and become healthier.

Is the exam just as thorough as a visit to the regular vet clinic?

We do house calls so that we can be more thorough! We get to spend more time with you and your pet in their home environment, where we may find clues as to why they are sick. We focus on your pet and you during the exam instead of being distracted by other appointments and patients.

What services do you provide?

First and foremost, we have to believe in what we are doing; we have to believe in the power of the truly Holistic approach; we have to believe that we can help your four-legged friend get better; we have to believe in the power of positivity!

In this day and age, it can be difficult for many of us to find 60 minutes of relaxed “free” time for a thorough veterinary exam, but your pet’s health depends on it!

We want to spend as much time as we can to understand your pet’s history, past problems, current problems, and lifestyle to treat them better and help him restore balance to his system to keep himself healthier!

Do you see routine/annual/wellness exams?
Yes! We love the opportunity to see ‘healthy’ pets for whom we can ‘adjust’ minor unnoticed imbalances before those imbalances become a significant problem! These apparently healthy pets often benefit from nutrition & lifestyle review & education, acupuncture, and chiropractic care.
Do you provide vaccinations?

No. Instead, we take a holistic-minded approach to health & wellness & prevention.

I am specifically seeking acupuncture (or chiropractic) for my pet - will you do that?

We use a thorough questionnaire, a detailed discussion with you, and a comprehensive exam of every patient to determine the underlying core problem. Then we choose a treatment modality based on our findings. Sometimes it’s acupuncture, chiropractic, LASER, and rehab exercises, while sometimes, it’s all about herbs and nutrition. It’s usually some combination of these.

Is a treatment included in the initial visit?

Usually, and any hands-on treatment of acupuncture or chiropractic or laser is included in the cost, but any supplements are extra. Because of our integrated hands-on exam, which relies on chiropractic, rehab, and acupuncture theory and principles, the exam sometimes IS the treatment. Although our exam is complex by incorporating many modalities and philosophies, the simple action of palpating, ‘wiggling,’ or stretching a bone, joint, or muscle will often correct the problem. See the Fees page for more information on what is included in the Initial Visit, and the Appointment Request page for what to expect during the visit.

Do you offer Telemedicine, online consultations or phone consults?

We provide Phone Consultations for clients outside of our house-call area. We can often help you find what is missing by thoroughly reviewing and discussing your pet’s medical & life history, test results, and prior treatments and then recommending different options via a phone consultation.

Would a Holistic Phone Consultation be helpful for my pet?
