Holistic vet care that looks beyond symptoms

Hope & Healing for Pets & Their People

There’s often more to the story than what’s immediately visible. At the heart of our work as a holistic veterinary practice is a commitment to understanding, education, and whole-pet wellbeing. We help pet owners move beyond uncertainty and make informed decisions that support lasting health and quality of life.

Our Approach

Understanding the Whole Picture

Health concerns rarely exist in isolation. That’s why our work begins by stepping back and considering the full picture. This includes examining how different systems interact and how factors such as medical history, environment, and nutrition may contribute to what you’re seeing.

Rather than relying on one-size-fits-all recommendations, we use a thoughtful, individualized lens. We draw from both traditional and holistic vet care options to provide guidance that fits your pet, your values, and real life.

Meet Dr. Matt Parker

A Holistic Vet You Can Trust

After six years in conventional veterinary practice, Dr. Parker found himself with more questions than answers. Traditional training taught him to label symptoms and prescribe accordingly, but offered little insight into why those symptoms develop in the first place. That search led him to Traditional Chinese Medicine, neurology, nutrition, and more through mentors mainly at the Chi Institute and Healing Oasis Wellness Center.

Over the past decade, that shift in perspective has shaped a truly holistic vet practice. Today, his work draws from a deeper understanding of symptoms, lifestyle and environmental factors, how the body moves, whole-foods carnivore nutrition, Chinese and Western herbs, and conventional veterinary medicine when it is the right tool. He understands the strengths and limitations of both approaches, and that balanced perspective helps pet owners navigate complex health concerns with greater understanding and a clearer path forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding Our Approach to Pet Care

We treat anything that isn’t an emergency. Our passion and purpose are to help reverse and prevent chronic disease & chronic inflammation, and to educate about the common, everyday causes of chronic disease & inflammation.

Common illnesses/conditions we treat include Addison’s disease, allergies, arthritis, atopy, auto-immune, back pain, cancer, chemical toxicity, Cushing’s syndrome, diabetes, diarrhea, disc injury (IVDD), ear infections, endocrine/hormone, gingivitis, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), lameness, lupus, Lyme, lymphoma, neck pain, paralysis, pemphigus, seizures, skin issues, tick disease, vomiting, nausea, anorexia, and more.

We evaluate all available information and assess big-picture items and tiny details from our exam findings, our visit to your home, or our phone consultation. We look at things much differently than what was taught to most veterinarians and doctors in conventional Western medical schools. We only offer house calls within the service area shown on the map, and we sometimes meet patients from outside the area at a local park. We also offer phone consultations nationwide.

We look at the body as a whole, the environment, nutrition & lifestyle, and everything that may be affecting your pet. We use any combination of treatment modalities that are necessary to help your pet. We focus on nutrition and gut health, detoxification, and avoidance of toxic chemicals or additives. We use the concepts of functional nutrition, Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, terrain theory, chiropractic neurology, energy-based philosophies, and sometimes limited use of pharmaceutical medications.

A thorough veterinary exam & assessment of your pet, review of records, second opinions, nutrition counseling, vaccine counseling, lifestyle and toxin counseling, herbal supplements, acupuncture, chiropractic assessments, and laser therapy.

Yes, but keep in mind that the “treatment” may consist mostly of raising awareness of what is making your pet unhealthy, and education & discussion about what you can do to help your pet’s long-term health. Acupuncture, chiropractic, and laser therapy are performed when needed.

YES! Dr. Parker can offer a holistic interpretation of your pet’s medical & life history to help you identify the root cause of disease. Dr. Parker is available to discuss many topics that affect health & wellness & longevity from a holistic perspective.

We may be able to identify potential underlying causes of disease by evaluating your pet’s past & present medical records and lab work. This information is also critical to properly raising young dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, and new rescue pets! We often gain new, meaningful information about your pet from our questionnaire, which we can discuss with you in detail.
